For the last
six years Community Arts Project has
funded the art literacy program at
Nestucca Valley Elementary School in
Cloverdale, to the praises of
administrators, teachers, students, and
parents. This program provides each
student with 90 minutes of monthly
instruction in art history, criticism,
aesthetics, and production. These
children also enjoy hands-on
opportunities, in an encouraging
environment, to produce their own artwork
in the style of the artist or movement
presented each month.
In January 2006, Community Arts Project
expanded the art literacy program to
Garibaldi Grade School. In order to
secure funding for additional schools, we
have established the North Coast Seafood
Festival to benefit our ongoing efforts
to provide creative experiences to area
school children. |
