Tillamook Pioneer Museum
The largest and best museum on the Oregon Coast with 35,000 artifacts and antiques. A must see! Incredible exhibits include a stagecoach, blacksmith shop, logging display, cheese-making equipment, quilt room, and replicas of great-grandma's kitchen and an 1851 Stump house. Enjoy seeing everyday items pioneers used from sewing machines to guns. Hours 9-5 Tuesday – Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday. Tillamook Cheese Factory
Located two miles north of the city of Tillamook, this is one of Oregon's most visited tourist attractions. The cheese factory features an observation deck, video tour, dairy industry museum, retail gift store, deli, and Tillamook ice cream parlor. Blue Heron French Cheese Company
Housed in a converted Dutch dairy barn, the Blue Heron offers something for the whole family. Sample the richness of the famous brie, taste the gourmet foods, enjoy the wine tasting room, and wander through the eclectic gift shop. Stop by the delicatessen for freshly baked bread, homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches before visiting the wonderful petting farm. Latimer Quilt And Textile Center
This 1930's school building showcases a full range of handmade textiles, particularly quilts. See working looms, quilting, spinners, weavers, and other textile arts in progress. Gift shop features handwork and one-of-a-kind creations. 2105 Wilson River Loop in Tillamook. Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 12pm-4pm. Tillamook Air Museum
The largest wooden structure in the world, this huge blimp hangar is full of historical aircraft, exhibits, theater, gift shop and a 40's style diner. Located 2 miles south of Tillamook off HWY 101. Hours daily 9am-5pm. Admission $11.00 Adults, $10.00 Seniors, $6.50 6-17, Free 5 and under. Group rates available. Munson Creek Falls
At 266 feet high, Munson Creek Falls is the tallest waterfall in the coast range. Hikers can choose between a quarter-mile path to the base of the falls at a picnic table or a 3/8 mile trail to a viewpoint including wooden walkways clinging to a cliff that leads to a small viewing platform. Don't forget your camera! Seven miles south of Tillamook on HWY 101, no restrooms or trailer turnaround.

 

Cape Meares Lighthouse
Located ten miles west of Tillamook, this historical lighthouse, in operation from 1890 to 1963, stands only 38 feet high at the edge of a 200-foot cliff. Visitors can climb up to the lantern and inspect the lens, observe native birds, and see annual whale migrations. Other park attractions include nature trails and the legendary Octopus Tree. There is an interpretive gift shop in the lighthouse. Hours 11am-4pm daily April-October. Free. 800-551-6949 www.oregonstateparks.org/park

 

Port Of Garibaldi
Garibaldi has a rich history of explorers like Gray, Drake, Cook and Vancouver who visited the site of a whaling and fishing village of the Tillamook Indians. Today's visitors will enjoy the marina walking path which includes an antique train display, fishing charters, seafood companies, and restaurants featuring fresh seafoods. The bay also offers excellent clamming, a pier for crabbing, and a Coast Guard station. Marina boat launch and RV parks are popular draws.


Things To Do

Crabbing
A major sport at Tillamook, Netarts, Nestucca and Nehalem Bays. Boats and crab rings are available for rent in these locations. Rules and regulations are provided in the Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations Guide.

 

Clam Digging
A popular sport in Tillamook County. License is required.

     

Fishing
Tillamook County, with its nine major streams, is an outstanding area for sport fishing. Charter boats are available at Garibaldi and Pacific City, in addition to individual boat rentals.

 

Hiking & Beachcombing
Tillamook County offers a wide variety of locations to hike and beachcomb along 75 miles of sandy beaches. The forest surrounding the county offers trails of beauty leading into the forests and green meadows.

     

Parks & Campgrounds
Many campgrounds are operated by the state, county, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and private individuals. Most campgrounds offer tent camping, hiker/biker areas and full hook-ups.
